Climate Change: Emissions Cuts

A recent study published on Phys.org Earth Sciences highlights the limitations of measuring climate progress solely through emissions reductions and renewable energy expansion. Led by Germán Bersalli of the Research Institute for Sustainability, the research team developed a new method to assess the underlying drivers of change, applying it to four European countries. The findings suggest that while progress has been made, a comprehensive system-wide transformation is still needed to achieve a fully CO₂-free energy system. This has significant implications for the mining industry, particularly in regions like Norway, where mineral exploration companies like Pure Minerals are working to reduce their carbon footprint.
