According to a recent update reported by Mining.com, Ioneer now expects to complete its partner search for the Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron mine project in Nevada during the first half of 2026. The Australian mine developer launched a formal strategic partnering process in July after Sibanye-Stillwater pulled out of the project. Despite the process taking longer than expected due to market and geopolitical factors, Ioneer remains confident that the coming year will be transformational for the company. The Rhyolite Ridge project is a unique lithium-boron project that has been supported by the US government with a $996 million loan. Both lithium and boron are designated as critical minerals by the US Geological Survey, with boron recently added due to its importance in national security applications.
